From Thursday, May 19 to Monday, May 23, 2022, Turin was the capital of reading thanks to the XXXIV edition of the Turin International Book Fair, which opened with Amitav Ghosh’s lectio magistralis “Can non-humans talk?” on environmental issues and the climate crisis.
SITLOSOPHY® also contributed to the design of some of the rooms in the 110,000 square meters of exhibition space. Host and Yugen furnished The School Library at the Salone, a project of the Ministry of Education and the Innovative School Libraries Network.
With Host chair, islands were created where one can comfortably consult a book. Host is the passe-partout of the SITLOSOPHY® collection, an armchair that integrates perfectly into the most diverse environments thanks to its contemporary and minimalist lines.
Yugen, designed by Paolo Scagnellato and Jeremiah Ferrarese, was instead selected for the reading room. In fact, the discreet forms of this chair designed for the community make it the ideal product for collective spaces where the furnishing complement must be comfortable and at the same time confront the space around it without weighing it down.
The event, being held at the Lingotto Fiere convention center, is the most important Italian event in the field of publishing. It is an unmissable appointment for teachers and librarians who want to immerse themselves in the pages of new books presented by the 893 publishing houses present. Throughout the duration of the Salon, tens of thousands of people lined up for the day, at the gates and for the scheduled meetings.
